Analysis of the Pilsen Triangle Plan

Staff from the University of Illinois at Chicago Center for Urban Economic Development have completed an analysis of the report The Pilsen Triangle: A Commercial Market Study developed by Camiros, Ltd. for the Economic Development Task Force of the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council and the Pilsen Chamber of Commerce. This analysis was prepared for the Pilsen/Aztlan Neighborhood Coalition as part of the current efforts of the Coalition to examine ongoing planning and development efforts in the Pilsen community.

The following report is a contribution to the efforts of the City of Chicago and the Mayor's Office of Employment and Training to implement a job impact analysis program. The main purpose of this program is to increase job opportunities for Chicagoans through the selection of those city spending and investment policies that have the greatest job creation potential. To accomplish this goal, it is necessary to develop the capacity to predict the employment impacts of alternative city expenditure patterns.
